Where the Wilderness Meets the Canvas

My work is an exploration of nature’s architecture, defined by a distinct focus on trees, water lilies, and aquatic flora. As a Finnish visual artist, I create near-abstract landscapes that bridge memory and material, distilling the organic geometry of forests and waterways into tactile, three-dimensional experiences.

Working with acrylics and contemporary mediums on canvas or Plexiglass, I craft ethereal compositions distinguished by rich, unconventional textures. My creative process is fueled by movement—the rhythm of trekking through woods and paddling across silent lakes. These wilderness excursions allow me to capture fleeting impressions of light and motion, translating the serene energy of trees and water plants into multilayered surfaces that invite viewers into a quiet space of personal reflection.

The works are designed to be living entities that interact with their environment. They truly come to life in natural light, particularly during the transition of dusk, when the depth and vibrant layers of the medium are most strikingly highlighted.

With roots in Southern Finland and a background at the Tourula Visual Artists atelier community, I currently create from my home studio in Jyväskylä, Central Finland. My practice, supported by the Helsinki International Artists’ Association, explores the raw elegance of the North and the timeless beauty of organic forms.

These are more than paintings—they are living textures that shift with the natural light of the day, coming into their fullest depth as the sun begins to set.

My art is a constant evolution of emotion and perception, born from hikes through quiet forests and paddling trips across still waters. While the finished pieces live here on these pages and on Taiko, the winding path of my practice is captured in the moment on social media.
